1/13/25 Board Brief
Dear Laurel and Magnolia Residents,
We hope this message finds you well. As always, there are several updates happening in our community. Please take a moment to review the important reminders below.
Seasonal Decorations
As the holiday season ends, we kindly request that all seasonal decorations, including pumpkins and other festive displays, be removed. While these decorations add to the seasonal spirit, they can unfortunately attract pests such as rodents, impacting the cleanliness and maintenance of our shared spaces.
To preserve the beauty of our neighborhood, we ask for your prompt attention in removing any remaining decorations. Thank you for your continued commitment to maintaining the standards of our community.
Parking Presentation and Permit Process Update
We sincerely thank all residents who attended the recent parking presentation. A comprehensive amount of information was shared during the session, and the PowerPoint presentation is now available on our website at www.LaurelMagnoliaHOA.com. Please visit the "Parking" tab to access it. *Please remember to register your garaged vehicles in Parking Boss*
It is our goal to loosen guest parking restrictions once resident misuse stops. Please encourage your neighbors to park in their garage to benefit the greater good.
We would also like to express our appreciation to those who submitted applications for the resident parking permits. The application period is now officially closed, and no additional submissions will be accepted.
To ensure fairness in the distribution process, garage inspections will be conducted the weekend of January 25th and 26th.
Tomorrow, January 14th, those who have submitted applications will receive an email from Sign Up Genius containing a link to schedule a 15-minute inspection slot. Click the link and choose your time. Thank you for your understanding as we work to complete this process.

Only one question per resident will be allowed during this forum.
After parking has been discussed, the Board will move on to other agenda items. We will also close the meeting with Q&A for other items, topics NOT related to parking. If you are unable to attend the meeting, you are welcome to submit your questions via email at LaurelMa@ciramail.com.
We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to your participation!
Tree Trimming Announcement
A community-wide tree trimming effort will begin on
Monday, January 13th – 21st This important work supports:
Construction Projects: Clearing trees that touch buildings ensures safe and efficient access for PacWest’s work.
Tree Health: Addressing overgrowth improves the health and appearance of our trees, especially those leaning toward buildings.
Sidewalk Cleanliness: Managing fruit-dropping strawberry trees helps reduce sidewalk stains.
Community Maintenance
As you may be aware, an emergency water leak occurred last week on Durango Way. While the leak has been successfully repaired, attributed to a construction defect, additional work is scheduled to address the aftermath. A crew will be onsite to fill the hole and repave the asphalt in the affected area. Additionally, while the crew is present, they may also address some lifted sidewalk sections throughout the neighborhood caused by tree roots, helping to mitigate potential tripping hazards.
Please note scheduled working hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain the safety and functionality of our community.
Pool and Jacuzzi Closure
To maintain the quality of our shared amenities, the pool and jacuzzi will be closed for routine maintenance and building painting later this month:
Tentative Dates: January 22nd – January 31st
We’ve scheduled this work during the off-season to minimize the impact on residents. Updates will be provided if the timeline changes.
Insurance Update – Measure D
To ensure quorum for Measure D, the Inspectors of Election have resent the ballots to homeowners who have NOT yet voted. Ballots will be counted on January 28, 2025. Your involvement is crucial.
If Measure D does not pass, we will face significant challenges, including:
Non-compliance with our CC&Rs: This would require further action to address the issue.
Increased Expenses for Homeowners: Additional steps, such as reissuing another ballot, would incur further costs for everyone.
By casting your vote now, you help us avoid unnecessary delays and expenses while ensuring that our community remains in compliance.
